Ingredients :

  • 350-380g flour
  • 200ml hot water (80°C)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon instant yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons plain yogurt
  • 400g mozzarella cheese, grated

For the Butter Topping :

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions :

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the hot water, olive oil, and yogurt. Mix with a spoon, then knead by hand for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. If the dough feels too sticky, add a little more flour.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 to 2 hours until doubled in size.
  5. Divide the dough into 5 equal portions and shape them into balls.
  6. Lightly flour your work surface and roll each ball into a circle about 15cm wide.
  7. Place grated mozzarella cheese in the center of each dough circle.
  8. Pinch the edges together to seal the cheese inside and form a ball again.
  9. Gently roll each filled dough ball into a flatbread about 20cm in diameter.
  10. Heat a lightly greased frying pan over medium heat.
  11. Cook each flatbread for about 2 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes.
  12. Mix the melted butter with the chopped parsley.
  13. Brush the hot naan breads with the parsley butter and serve warm.

Tips :

  • Let the dough rest properly for a soft and fluffy texture.
  • Do not overfill with cheese to prevent leaking while cooking.
  • Cook over medium heat to avoid burning the bread.
  • Serve warm for the best cheesy pull.
  • Add garlic powder to the butter for extra flavor.
